Amazon’s shocking announcement that it is looking to build a billion second North American headquarters campus is only a few hours old, but cities are already lining up to pursue the online retail giant.

Amazon’s proposed campus would have three 37-story office towers and related buildings, connected via streetcar to the company’s existing buildings in South Lake Union. Amazon’s architects from NBBJ have told city officials that the company’s is intent on “building a neighborhood, not a campus” — integrating its new project into the surrounding neighborhood.

Among the floats was an award-winning entry from China Airlines featuring a scuba diver floating above fish and a coral reef. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artists Earth Wind and Fire performed atop a red and white float recreating the Forum, the famous Los Angeles-area arena celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Amazon’s?filing added, “Amazon’s contention is that its confidential information and trade secrets are at risk, that Amazon has no way to protect its interests while Szabadi is working for Google under the stated belief that he has no obligations to Amazon, and that Szabadi should be required to honor his promise not to work for a direct competitor when he knows and has analyzed (and in some instances formulated) Amazon’s strategies, strengths and weaknesses, and data on its cloud computing partners.”
